Atheist Myth #1 We are not Organized

You may read on forums on the internet that atheists are not organized to any extent. These argument is an attempt to draw your attention away from fact that atheists are gathering, and yes they do have an agenda.

Here are some groups that have gathered under the banner of atheism. You will notice they are, despite popular conjecture, attempting to influence government bodies. In the United States this could be problematic since our constitution prohibits any law that restricts the free exercise of religion. You know the other part of the separation of church and state that atheists conveniently forget.

I am sure out of the over 17 million hits one gets on search engines when typing in “atheist groups” will yeild more examples.

While there is absolutely nothing wrong with people of like minds gathering, there is something wrong when atheists claim it does not happen.

Atheism is a beleif that has been around as long as there has been dogma. It has generally been benign with atheists wishing to live in peace to persue their works along side religious collegues in the field of science and philosophy. Modern atheism has become militant however, and many atheists are denying how dangerous their budding organization has become. The goal of this blog is to keep the fanatical atheists in check so that they do not make the same horrible mistakes of their theist counterparts.

This is an example of why having atheists to keep the religious in check is “a good thing.’

While many religious will argue that God is the backbone of America, and I personally beleive God is, we have provisions in this country to keep the church from ruling the land and the government from sqaushing the church. Both elements are essential to true freedom. Kentucky may have been attempting to be inclusive, but the state tried to promote and establish a beleif in God as essential to Government. This is a philosophical debate, and not something that should be legislated.
